Contract financeA confirmed order is the start of the funding case.
What a provider may need to understand before considering a contract funding request.

Explain who awarded the work, what must be delivered, when cash is needed and how much the project will require in funding. Bring the signed award or purchase order, supplier quotations, project milestones and a realistic delivery plan. Show the expected margin and the buyer’s payment terms, then identify the cash receipts expected to repay the facility. An award alone does not establish that funding is suitable or available.
Cash flowFind the timing gap before choosing a facility.
A simple cash-flow view can reveal the size and duration of the shortfall.

Map supplier deposits, wages, materials and other project budget against milestone payments and customer receipts. Check whether a delayed payment, project overrun or partial order would change the funding requirement. Compare the timing of repayments with the cash the business expects to receive. Funding amount, total funding amount and repayment timing all matter.
Application readinessA decline can show what needs attention.
Turn application feedback into clear actions before applying again.

Review the provider’s feedback and separate missing documents from concerns about affordability, security, buyer risk or delivery capacity. Ask what evidence would address each point and whether the funding structure still fits the project. Strengthening an application may improve its completeness; resubmission does not guarantee approval.
